Rest in the mountains: Italian authorities advise to temporarily refuse

Italian authorities insist that ski and snow lovers temporarily abandon their holidays in the Alps, where six people have been killed over the past two days.

Heavy snowfalls and heavy rains that hit Italy this week left the Apennine Peninsula, giving way to beautiful weather, which beckons you to ski and ride the mountain. However, authorities warn that this is not the best idea: the threat of avalanches in the mountains is higher than ever.

They argue that the danger level of avalanches at the moment is between 4 and 5 out of five points and will remain at that level for at least a few more days.

Popular in Italy and Switzerland, ski resorts also warned their visitors that being in the Alps is now very dangerous and asked to postpone skiing for a couple of days.

Today, the list of those killed under the avalanche of skiers has replenished by one more person. In the Italian ski resort of Pila, two young people who were skiing on the descent of the Plata de Grevon at a height of 2800 meters suffered from an avalanche.

A friend of the deceased told reporters: “We climbed the descent together. He began to descend from the mountain first, and I had to go after them. But when I went down, I looked around and saw that it was covered by an avalanche. ”According to the rescuers, the body of one of the skiers swept away by an avalanche could not be found for a long time. The first victim died in the ambulance, and after a couple of hours they found the second victim. Unfortunately, similar cases continue to occur despite warnings from meteorologists and authorities.

So, in neighboring Switzerland, two skiers died, the body of one of which rescuers can not find until now. They suggest that a 27-year-old guy had an avalanche covered south of Realp. Rescuers also failed to save a 50-year-old man who, along with his son, was trying to get to his hotel, located in the popular French resort of Courchevel, when an avalanche descended directly on them. However, his son was not injured.

On New Year and Christmas holidays, nobody wants to sit at home. Therefore, from year to year in winter, Italy receives numerous tourists who are fans of outdoor activities.

Italian ski resorts are especially popular among lovers of snow, ski and snowboard. And this is not surprising. Today it is a whole network of first-class recreation areas scattered in the Alps, striking their beauty with everyone.

Italy's ski resorts have one characteristic feature: as a rule, several ski areas are combined into one, with a common descent, funiculars and lifts. Therefore, very often tourists can not determine where the boundaries of one resort go and the ownership of the next begins. However, this does not affect the overall impression of a winter vacation in the mountains of Italy.

Despite the fact that Italy began to pay attention to winter sports and ski tourism relatively recently, today it is already one of the recognized world leaders in the market of ski holidays.
